Frequently Asked Questions (regarding our newborn sessions)
What age do you photography newborns up to?
We photograph newborns between the ages of 5 and 14 days. After 14 days babies start to “uncurl” making it more difficult to keep them in those cute little poses. We are quite strict about this; but of course for very prem babies and twins we can do the sessions past the 14 day period.
I want to book but I’m not sure when my baby will arrive? Shall I wait till the baby is here and then give you a call?
No please don’t! The number of sessions we do are limited and if you leave it until the baby is here there’s a good chance we’ll be fully booked. 99% of the babies we have into the studio don’t arrive on time so as long as you have a rough due date we can pencil you a date and if the baby arrives late or early we’ll move the date accordingly. All sessions that are prebooked (with the sitting fee paid no later than 4 weeks before your session) will be offered a session under the 14 days!
We only take on a limited number of sessions to ensure we can get everyone in!
I’ve just had a baby but only just found you – is it too late to get booked in?
There’s a good chance we’ll be fully booked but give us a call and we’ll do our best to accommodate you – we don’t want you to miss out on those early days!
My baby's belly button cord has not dropped off yet – will that be ok for their session?
Of course, some fall off on day 4 and others much later – we can usually cover it throughout a session or use a bit of Photoshop magic.
My baby is very jaundice – can you edit this?!
Yes we can – its no problem reducing the yellowness in their skin if the baby is very jaundice – it just requires some Photoshop magic!
What do I need to bring?!
Very little really, we’ll send you all the info that you need to know regarding the session – we have props and outfits etc but you’ll more than welcome to bring in anything sentimental!
Can I bring big brother/sister!
Of course, there’s nothing better than photographing a very proud older sibling with the newest addition of the family!
